From splitter desert cracks in the Utah and Colorado desert, to big walls in Zion and Yosemite, to long complex alpine ridges around the world, these places and trips stand out as some of the most formidable trips of my time in the mountains.  For most people, rock climbing is the foundation for all other disciplines of technical climbing and has personally been the vehicle that brought me to some of the remote places in the world.
